Who we are

SwingPal ("we", "our", "us") analyses golf swings you record with your phone. This policy explains what we collect, who it goes to, and what you can do about it. It covers the SwingPal app and this website.

What we collect

• Your swing videos — the clips the app records, plus the still frames and pose data we derive from them.
• Analysis results — measurements, scores, the faults and strengths we detect, and the coaching text written for you.
• Your account — the email address you sign up with (or the Apple ID token, if you use Sign in with Apple), and an account identifier we generate.
• Your settings — skill level, chosen pro, coach voice, set size, and your free-tier usage counters.
• Diagnostics — crash reports and performance traces, which include your device model and operating system version, and may include your account identifier.
• Purchases — whether you hold a subscription, and its status.

We do not ask for your name, your address or your location, and the app does not use location services.

What we do with it

• Measure your swing and write your coaching.
• Keep your swing history so you can compare sessions.
• Run the free tier and, if you subscribe, your subscription.
• Find and fix crashes.
• Check, on a small set of saved swings, that our measurements are accurate: when we change the app, and before a new measurement counts as checked.

Some swings are kept to check our measurements. A small number of swing videos, and the measurements taken from them, are held in a test set we use to see whether SwingPal measures correctly. To check a swing, still frames from it are labelled, by us and by AI models from Anthropic, with what the swing shows; the labels are compared with what SwingPal measured. Nothing about you goes with them beyond the swing itself, they are never published, and we do not use them to build a profile of you. If you would rather yours were not used this way, email us and we will take them out.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Who else receives it

These companies process data on our behalf. Each receives only what its job needs.

• Supabase — our database, sign-in and file storage. Your account, your swings and your videos are stored there.
• RevenueCat — subscription management. It receives your account identifier and your purchase status.
• Sentry — crash and performance reporting. It receives error reports, device model, operating system version and, in some reports, your account identifier.
• Railway — hosting for the servers that do the measuring.
• Anthropic — AI models that label still frames of the swings in our test set (above). It receives those frames only, with no account details.
• Apple — handles the payment itself if you subscribe. We never see your card details.

Where your video lives

Your video is uploaded to our storage at Supabase and is measured on our own servers.

Videos are stored at long, unguessable web addresses that are not listed anywhere and are not indexed by search engines. Anyone who is given one of those addresses can open that video without signing in, so treat a link to your swing the way you would treat any private link.

How long we keep it

We keep your swings and their analyses for as long as your account exists. Delete a swing in the app and we delete its video, thumbnail and pose data. Delete your account in Settings and we delete your profile, your swings and your videos. Crash reports are kept by Sentry on its own schedule and are not tied to your swings.

Your choices

• See your data — your swings and analyses are in the app; email us for anything else.
• Delete it — a single swing, or your whole account, from Settings. Account deletion is permanent.
• Ask us anything — including to correct something, or to export what we hold.

If you are in the UK, the EU or California, you have further rights over your personal data, including access, correction, deletion and objection. Email us and we will act on it.

Children

SwingPal is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, ask you again in the app.
